All these articles look a little shadybut apparently the Neuromancer movie (originally announced in 2007 with a budget of $70 million-ohmama) has gotten the ball rolling again with a new director on board: Vincenzo Natali, who has blessed the world with gems such as Cube and Splice.

Interesting little fact: According to IMDB, Natali worked as an uncredited storyboard artist on Johnny Mnemonic, the last William Gibson novel to hit the big screen.

All this sounds good and dandy, but I’m a bit worried about this project if it ever does get off the ground. If William Gibson does write it I hope he took a good hard look at his last attempt and learned from his glorious, wildly entertaining mistakes. The man can write a book, but even Henry Rollins had trouble saving that screenplay… and there can only be one horribly awesome William Gibson sci-fi movie.

I could post my favorite scenes from this movie all day
