Stories About Another World From Another World

Science Fiction from other cultures is ridiculously interesting; In America, when we think aliens we think anally probed rednecks in the midwest or flying saucers filled with little green men you can get for 1,000,000 tickets at Chuck E. Cheese. But what the HELL do people in Russia think of when they hear the word alien? Or China? Or anywhere?

I have no idea. But these are pretty cool.

This is a Soviet’s take on Ray Bradbury’s “There Will Come Soft Rains,” that crazy story about the automated house. Awesome crappytoon animation… is that a soothing robot voice to Russians??

Another Bradbury tale, “Here There Be Tigers”

Monster Brains has a nice little collection of Awesome German sci-fi magazine covers. The reeeally weird ones are from Terra magazine, which apparently was the most important postwar sci-fi mag in Western Germany
